Introduction
An oddity, it seems, in a place such as this - a pious monk of the Eightfold Path still struggling to hold on to his faith; a devout cradling still his spirituality and patronage to the Buddha himself. Unnamed, unskilled, and unknowing he was taken, stolen away from a pilgrimage to serve a new life within the halls of sin and servitude; be it tether or noose, leash or lashing? That was left to the oberserver.Antlers, ever growing, ever sprouting, ever coiling like branches in a windswept tree in autumn; covered soft with sensitive velvet, ragged with shedding and itch, pointed, strong, bare and elegantly carved as branches and flowers and daily life. A stunning work of art, carved by hand; meticulous work and details untold striven for by special tools, skilled hands, and uncomfortable positions sought. A work of art created of fall and gone by winter - as fleeting as life itself.

Though Roshan presents primarily as a Manchurian Sika Deer, one with a strong nose would be able to pick up the faintest hint of kirin blood. This mythical heritage completely fails to show in any aspect within the boy save for having a slightly longer tail than most cervids, and the debilitating feature in that his antlers do not grow of bone, as would those of most other deer, but of solid ivory as would the tusks of elephants. This is, of course, debilitating in the fact that, while significantly stronger and less prone to damage, they are also significantly heavier, and the boy, himself, slows down as they grow and fatigues more easily.Biography
The legends say that he was born of an unfortunate union of sage and doe, seed spilt upon a plant soon eaten and pregnancy followed in the doe rather swiftly; legends are legends and little if any orf this is true - all that is known is that the boy was dumped upon the steps of a monastery hidden high in the Manchruan mountain. The boy was never given a name, and through his years was taught to do many of the things the elderly monks of the monastery could no longer do - he upkept the gardens, foraged for food, did repairs to the rooves and the walls of the monastery, and generally did much of the heavier lifting and more physical labour for those of the monks who no longer could keep up with such physical labour.
The boy was raised in complete ignorance of the world outside of the mountain atop which the monastery sat save for the tales of Buddhist lore that the monks spoke of, and those tales he heard of pilgrimages by the many elder monks who raised him. Through this ignorance, he grew up pious and well-mannered: an exemplary monk.
At the age of thirteen, his body began to change behaps a little more than ought be expected of a young boy just reaching puberty: upon his skull there came to grow a small set of antlers during the fall which, over the course of winter, were shed, a development unexpected by the monks, as it became rather readily apparent that the boy was not as they'd expected. Years passed, and over time, the boy was rumoured to be the reincarnation of the sage ऋष्यशृंग. No godly powers or complete innocence existed within the boy, however - still, though pirous, mischief reigned, and rumours were proven to be rumours time and again as fortune continued as normal, rather than blessed, for the monks and their hard-working 'son'.
Adulthood came, and by this time, the boy had learned to carve shed antlers into various tools and created for the elder monks beads and rosaries, forks and immensely sharp knives. Over time, his antlers became more solid, more study, and certainly heavier, producing not the honeycomb-like stucture of the antlers of a deer, but a horn-like substance like that of ivory. These were taken by the monks to the nearest village and sold in order to bring money for food and new robes.
As life rolled on, many of the monks within the monastery passed, and Rishyasringa began to speak of curiosity for the outside world; many years of deliberation passed and at the age of twenty-six, he was allowed to leave the monastery and go on pilgrimage to seek a life in another.
The pilgrimage went awry.
Roshan soon neough found himself not in the walls of another monastery, but within the walls of the Tether, collared, explained that he was now a slave, and through all of this his passive nature stood strong. He took his new lot as a slave as seriously as he took his new lot as a monk, though to go from a world fo isolation to a world of without taboo or shame had proven quite the stressor; his virtues slipped rather quickly, his toongue has learned venom, yet he still strives for his values.
People
Seeking
- A frequent renter. I have plenty of ideas for this, and among them the possibility of Roshan being rented rather often by someone he immensely dislikes,or who constantly humiliates him. This role could be filled by many, or one, and ideally would be filled by someone poessive of Roshan. The fact that he is ahouse slave, too, could lead to some wonderful in-character drama with so-and-so either demanding that Roshan quit, or trying to convince the Tether to sell him to them.
- Someone to teach him things; dance, storytelling, stripping, or even how to pleasure another. I really don't care what, but Roshan's primary reason for being is to learn, and to teach, and I would love to have someone constantly teaching him new skills.
- Someone to put him to use! Roshan has plenty of practical skills that could serve a person well - basic carpentry, bonecarving, cooking, cleaning. If you have ideas, throw them at me!
